Followed by hotdogs and hot chocolate in the Church Hall (free rentals available at the oval). In case of inclement weather, you are invited to the Church Hall to watch the movie Evan Almighty. Popcorn and hotdogs to be enjoyed by all!

Come join Sarah on Sat., Feb. 4th & 11th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for a time of reflection and learning through the experience of spiritual practices.

 

Each session will be spent exploring scripture through various methods of spiritual practice and in turn deepening the roots of our Christian faith.

 

You may join for one session or both, each of these mornings will be different!

Wrestling with the Difficult Texts 

 

As we work to understand and live out God’s will, there are times when we wrestle with difficult Biblical texts. For example:

  •  ►How should we go about considering and interpreting texts that are unsettling? For instance, in an affluent country such as Canada, how are we to understand and respond to the comment that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into heaven?
  • ►How should we go about considering and interpreting texts that seem to undermine our perception of God’s all-encompassing love? For instance, how are we to understand and respond to texts that are (or have traditionally been read as) anti-Semitic?  Or texts that appear to condemn same-sex relationships?

Every Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM to 11 AM seniors meet in the church hall. You are invited to join other seniors from our community for a time of fellowship and fun. A good time  will be had by all. Snacks are served and music is played.
