A Light the Spirit has become a tradition at Edgewood Oxford United Church.
Each year ten dollar donations are made in celebration of those dear to us.
Each donation purchases a light on a Christmas tree.
On December 4th members of our congregation joined for a choral sign and to official turn on the Christmas tree lights. The evening was wrapped up with hot chocolate served in the comfort of the church hall.
Each Year the UCW host the Retired Teachers Associations' Christmas Dinner.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Loonies for Landscaping fund this spring and summer. Through your generosity, we have been able to make great progress in our ongoing efforts to beautify our church property, and the good news is that the garden beds surrounding the church will look even better as they mature.
In late summer 2011 several volunteers from our congregation renovated the Narthex for our church. This gives us a bright welcoming entrance to our sanctuary.
An Advent Floral Course was held at the church on November 27th. Our The Instructor Sandra Barry from "I Do" Flowers lead everyone that participated in creating a lovely Advent arrangement.
Once again Edgewood-Oxford is all Decked our for the Advent Season.

To help us celebrate the 85th Aniversary of the United with our brothers and sisters across this country, we have been paired with St. James United Church in Peterborough, Ontario. This Gallery shows images from this church.
During the Summer of 2010 the windows in the Sanctuary, Hall and Narthex where replaced. The previous windows had a yellow tint. With the new windows the church is much brighter. In This Photo Gallery you can see the many new windows from different angles.
Construction has started on Edgwood-Oxford United Church this week (August 17, 2010) with the installation of the new windows and the rebuilding of the tower entrance.
This year (2010) Edgewood-Oxford decided to do something different for our Sunday School Closing Picnic, We went to Hatfield farms.
We where all taken on a Horse Drawn Wagon Ride to the Main facilities back in the woods. Where we all had fun in the Rubber Rodeo. This is a large building with two Bouncy Castles a Gladiator Pit and of coarse a Mechanical Bull. They also had miniature Golf for the less adventurous.
After we had our fill of fun we where feed Hamburgers and Hot Dogs in the Main Lodge.
Members of our Sunday SChool and Youth Group help react Jesus's arrive into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
As part of the Sunday School's journey through Lent to the Cross and the Empty Tomb, the Sunday school built a Tomb out of boxes of Kraft Dinner. After lent the boxes of Kraft Dinner will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia.
In 2010 Reverend David and his lovely wife Marian celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Never ones to miss an opportunity for a celebration the members of Edgewood-Oxford decided to help them Celebrate and throw a little party.
Each year Edgewood-Oxford United Church does a musical dinner theater as a major fund raiser to help support the Christian work of the church.

Children are important part of our congregational life.
In 2010 the second Gourmet Desert Extravaganza & Kitchen Party was held. It was an evening of live music entertainment and deserts from the great cooks in our congregation.
During the six months October 2009 to May 2010 the Quilters of Edgewood-Oxford United have quilted 30 beautiful quilts. Each year the quilters donate the quilts, they have made, to various organizations within Metro – IWK Hospital, The Elizabeth Fry Society, Bryany House, and The Ronald MacDonald House.
The pancake breakfast was enjoyed by those who attended almost as much as those you hosted it. Click on the picture to see more photos from the event.
